Remembering our beloved colleague Elise Finch. With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of our beloved Elise Dione Finch Henriques.
Elise has been a friend and member of the WCBS team for 16 years. She first joined the team in 2007 as a weekend weatherman and most recently on the morning news alongside Mary Calvi and Chris Wragge. In September, Elise joined Cindy Hsu on the 9 a.m. news.
Elise is a talented and accomplished professional who takes great care in her work. She is also a great ambassador in the community, including her hometown of Mount Vernon. News
She is our bright light in the morning. We have had the pleasure of working with Elise for 16 years.
Elise was on the air with us last Friday. Her death was sudden and unexpected, leaving us all trying to figure out how this could have happened to our beautiful Elise, who was just 51 years old. His dedication to his work is truly evident every day. Every major weather event, Elise reports – many of the factors.
The multi-award winner is also very proud to say that she was born in Mount Vernon and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, where she received the prestigious Presidential Award. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University. Elise has a great love for the entertainment industry, more specifically the world of music. And she claims to be a Janet Jackson superwoman. She has done amazing interviews with her favorite singers.
Elise is married to her true love Craig Henriques, whom she met at CBS New York. They married nearly 10 years ago in a grand wedding ceremony at Untermyer Gardens. They have a beautiful daughter named Grace, and we always cherish the stories she tells us about her wonderful life as a mother.
Really, every day is a good day when we are with Elise, and we will miss her so much.
Elise died at a local hospital. Cause of death has not been determined.
