Nathan Fehr, a sophomore at Pineview School, has been practicing martial arts since he was 5 years old and holds a black belt. He trains several days a week in Shuha Ri Martial Arts.

Fehr told ABC7 Sports anchor James Hill that he was honored to be named ABC7’s Sports Personality of the Week.

“This is a truly prestigious achievement. I think it’s great to be recognized for something like this. I know I’m not doing it for the fame. That’s not what I’m doing. I do it for the martial arts lifestyle,” Fehr said.

His father, Michael Fehr, said the family is very proud of Nathan’s work ethic and accomplishments.

He said: “Nate has to wake up around 6am and go to school. He arrives at 7:20 a.m. and goes to school until about 1:30 p.m. Then he went to Sarasota High School, where he just joined the track team,” Michael Fehr said.

Karen Camacho also practices martial arts and remembers the dedication Nathan showed every day.

“Personally, I don’t see how he can keep up. He got an A in school, came here, took his black belt test at 14, and that’s pretty good,” Karen Camacho said. Told.
