Haris to lead Shaheens in ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup. Goalkeeper striker Mohammad Haris has been named captain of Pakistan’s Shaheens for the ACC 2023 Men’s Emerging Asia Cup  Cricket on Friday.

The event will take place in Sri Lanka from July 14 to 23.

The team will meet at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore after the Eid ul Adha holiday on July 3 for a week-long training camp before the team arrives in Colombo on July 12.

Haris to lead Shaheens in ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup

The Shaheens, the defending champions, are placed in Group A alongside India A, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, while Group B includes Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals. The Shaheens will play their first match against Nepal on July 14, followed by matches against India A on July 16 and Sri Lanka A on July 18.

Haris, 22, has played five ODIs and nine T20Is for Pakistan and will manage the Shaheens for the first time.

Other internationals on the team are: Arshad Iqbal (1 T20I), Kamran Ghulam (1 ODI), Mohammad Wasim Jnr (2 Test, 14 ODI, 27 T20I), Sahibzada Farhan (3 T20I), Saim Ayub (8 T20I). ), Shahnawaz Dahani (2 ODI, 11 T20I) and Tayyab Tahir (3 T20Is).
