The stage is set for an electrifying weekend of Sevens rugby action as the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series returns to Cape Town for the HSBC Cape Town Sevens, taking place at DHL Stadium on December 9 and 10.

The pools for the tournament have been drawn, and they promise to deliver some mouthwatering clashes from the very first whistle. The Blitzboks, fresh off their victory in the Dubai Sevens, will headline Pool A, where they will face Ireland, the United States, and Great Britain.

Pool B is equally stacked, with Argentina, Australia, Samoa, and France vying for top spot. New Zealand, Canada, Fiji, and Kenya will battle it out in Pool C, while Chile, Germany, Spain, and Uruguay complete the line-up in Pool D.

The Blitzboks will be looking to continue their dominance on home soil, having won the Cape Town Sevens a record 14 times. However, they will face stiff competition from the likes of Ireland, who reached the final in Dubai, and Australia, who are always a threat at this tournament.

“We’re excited to be back in Cape Town and to be playing in front of our home fans,” said Blitzboks coach Neil Powell. “We know that we’re going to be in for a tough tournament, but we’re confident in our ability to compete and to give the fans something to cheer about.”

The HSBC Cape Town Sevens is always a special event on the Sevens calendar, and this year’s tournament promises to be no exception. With the world’s best teams set to take to the field, fans can expect a weekend of high-octane action, thrilling tries, and nail-biting finishes.
