In a recent interview, former England all-rounder Dominic Cork expressed his concerns about Pakistan’s chances in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

“Pakistan are just looking discombobulated,” Cork said. “You look at them, it looks like they have no chance at the World Cup 2023, but we can never write them off.”

Cork’s comments come on the back of Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the Asia Cup 2023, where they were knocked out in the Super 4 stage. Pakistan’s campaign was plagued by inconsistency, with the team failing to perform to their full potential in key matches.

Cork also compared Pakistan to their neighboring cricket country, India, who are considered to be one of the favorites for the World Cup.

“India look the strongest,” Cork said. “They have a well-balanced team with a lot of experience. Pakistan, on the other hand, are still looking for their best combination.”

Despite his concerns, Cork did acknowledge that Pakistan have a history of bouncing back when least expected.

“Pakistan are a dangerous team,” Cork said. “They have some world-class players in their side, and they can beat anyone on their day. But they need to find their form and consistency quickly if they want to challenge for the World Cup.”

Pakistan’s Cricket World Cup campaign will begin on October 23, when they take on India in their opening match.
