London, September 18, 2023: Young sensation Harry Brook has forced his way into England’s World Cup squad, despite having an ordinary series against New Zealand in the lead-up to the tournament.

The 24-year-old batsman scored 25, 2 and 10 in the four-match series, but his rapid progress as an international cricketer has seen him earn a place in the squad.

Brook made his ODI debut in 2023 and has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young players in the world. He has scored two centuries and four fifties in just 10 ODIs, and his average of 47.40 is the highest of any England batsman to have played at least 10 ODIs since Jonny Bairstow in 2014.

Brook’s inclusion in the World Cup squad comes at the expense of Jason Roy, who has been struggling for form in recent months. Roy has scored just two hundred in his last 13 ODIs, and he was dropped from the England team for the final two matches of the series against New Zealand.

England’s World Cup squad is now complete, and the team will begin their preparations for the tournament with a series of warm-up Cricket matches against Australia and South Africa in October and November.

England’s World Cup Squad:

  • Jos Buttler (captain)
  • Moeen Ali
  • Gus Atkinson
  • Jonny Bairstow
  • Sam Curran
  • Liam Livingstone
  • Dawid Malan
  • Adil Rashid
  • Joe Root
  • Harry Brook
  • Ben Stokes
  • Reece Topley
  • David Willey
  • Mark Wood
  • Chris Woakes

England are one of the favorites to win the World Cup, and Brook’s inclusion in the squad gives them even more firepower batting order.
