Woods is not attending the US Open (golf) at the Los Angeles Country Club this weekend, and it was announced on Friday that he won’t be playing the year’s final major – The Open – next month.
As injuries mount and his absence drags on, some fans fear Woods’ career may be in its final days. It is clear that he will never be the player he was in his prime, but he is still arguably the most famous player the sport has ever seen.

Many fans fear this could mean the beginning of the end for Woods. “You could shorten that title to ‘Tiger is Done’. It was a horrible ride, but it’s over. Admit it,” said one fan.
“Actually, I think he’s done playing golf professionally,” said another fan.
“Hopefully we’ll see him again and he can play, not only there, but again the reality is that’s unlikely,” one fan said. “It’s rare for an athlete to have such an impact on the entire sport,” said another fan, providing a photo from the stands at the 2015 Open to see Woods.
“Like Roger Federer at Wimbledon or Michael Jordan at the Garden – there aren’t many chances in a lifetime to witness that. Hopefully G.O.A.T will make a full recovery in 2024!”
Woods will have his next chance to win a major title at the Masters in 2024.
